What a crazy life. As unbelievable as it sounds, Sonny Lanai had to leave Florida. Not a great thing for a lanai, I know. Hey, I had fun living in Las Vegas, but now I've returned to where I belong — sunny Florida.
My whole being is renewed now, and I'm anxious to talk to all my friends again from my place of joy. If you want to know more about what happened the first time I lived in Florida, be sure to get a copy of my book, Caught in a Trap.
Now that I'm back in the land of flip flops, gorgeous beaches, and theme parks, I'm getting inspired to write down more of my adventures. Not sure what that looks like right now, but you never know when the mood might strike me.
For now, it's just great to be back. Be on the lookout for more news from me. Sonny Lanai is back on his sunny lanai!

Caught in a Trap: A Sonny Lanai Mystery
Here's an article on ezines that comes from a scene in the book:
The Reluctant Skipper
And here's an excerpt from the prologue of the book:
"But you must be asking, 'Who is this weirdo and why is he talking about life on a sunny lanai in Florida?' Well, you already know a little bit about me—at least my name. Sonny. Sonny Lanai.
Pretty cool name, huh? Not my real name, of course. I was born several decades ago in New Jersey. Not New York/New Jersey; Philadelphia/New Jersey. Cherry Hill actually. My parents named me Francis. Francis Lanacowitz.
Fast forward. First chance I got, I moved to Florida. After having what seemed like a hundred jobs, each lasting about a week, I met Percy Peters, a real live professional investigator. Unfortunately, I was on the wrong end of the law at the time, and he was coming after me. I don't know why he didn't turn me in. Maybe it was the 2x4 I used to knock his lights out. But, after he regained consciousness, he took a liking to me and started teaching me the ropes of his business.
Today I make a living just as Percy did. But I knew I wasn't going to get much business with a name like Francis Lanacowitz. So I changed my name and changed my life. My business card says it all—'Sonny Lanai, Private Eye.' ”
